On the Spot features five beautifully appointed, self contained suites which have everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay.

This charming coastal village (with its historic and architectural background) captures the heart of all its visitors. This new establishment is in a tranquil setting only 30 meters from the sea, and will revive your body and mind. Laze around the pool or get out and about in our beautiful natural surroundings of sea, beaches and nature reserves. After a lovely day, our executive rooms with all amenities will ensure a good rest in comfort and style. Start all over again the next day after a scrumptious breakfast.

Secure and enclosed on site parking with access controlled gates will provide you with total peace of mind. The main beach and village are within walking distance and we are close to two well-known golf courses.

Well run, low cost and centrally located within walking distance to the city and its many restaurants and bars, Flower Street Villa is convenient to everywhere. It nestles peacefully below Table Mountain, in exclusive Oranjezicht on the border of Gardens.
The Villa is just a stones throw away from the Garden’s shopping mall which included banks, supermarkets, restaurants and several fashionable boutiques.

Our premises are secure with plenty of off street parking for all rooms.
A full cooked breakfast or Continental breakfast is available or guests can make use of our fully equipped catering kitchen with 3 fridges, freezers, 2 cookers, microwaves, plates, cutlery etc.

This residence is deeply steeped in the history of South Africa.

In the 1770’s it was one of the ten most conspicuous large manors of Cape Town. It was owned and occupied by the Commander of the Castle and of the Dutch Forces, General Robert J. Gordon, who discovered and mapped a good part of South Africa. He discovered and also named our great river, the Orange (after the Prince of Orange), Plettenberg Bay (after Governor Von Plettenberg). Gordon’s Bay was named after him.

George Rex also lived here until the property was reclaimed by the Dutch. It was exchanged for land in Knysna, the town he later founded.
At Flower Street Villa you are only a few minutes from the Cable Car, Waterfront, Camps Bay and Clifton beaches.

Our Guest House is clean, central, and secure with lots of off street parking.
All our beds are King size with 100% crisp white cotton sheets and towels and our rooms are equipped with safe, TV, fan and hairdryer.
We have 11 double room with ensuite bathrooms and 3 double rooms with private bathroom across the halls which are available at a lower cost.

Rates

Our rooms are doubles with ensuite bathroom and the rate is R550 per night for two people (R275 each) and R450 for a single.
Our double rooms with private bathroom (outside the room across the hallway) are R450 per night for two people (R225 each) and R350 for a single.

Flower Street Villa is centrally located in City Bowl on the lower slopes of Table Mountain.
It is an easy 10-15 minute walk to town where you can take a stroll in Company Gardens, relax in a Café on Kloof Street or visit the many bars and clubs in Long Street.

For the business traveller we are close the CBD making it quick and easy to get to meetings in the city.
We are a 10 minute drive from the V&A Waterfront, Canal Walk Shopping Mall (biggest in Cape Town) and Camps Bay beaches.
Gardens Shopping Centre is a 3 minute walk down the road and has many boutiques and cafes as well as two supermarkets.
There are also several good restaurants within walking distance of the Guest House.

This small thatched bistro seats a maximum of 60 diners per seating in three separate rooms each featuring an antique Venetian crystal chandelier. Sunday lunch in the garden is extremely popular and reservations are essential at all times .

Silver Orange offers contemporary South African cuisine with a chalked up menu that changes every second week .We are proud of all our dishes and therefore only the freshest local and imported ingredients are used .

All our chefs are qualified ex Prue Leith students . The wine list features over 130 excellent local & international wines with some rare allocation wines on offer as well as over 8 different French champagnes.

Our Menu

The menu at the Silver Orange unashamedly offers comfort kos but it would be wrong to dismiss its soothing simplicity as unskilled or unsophisticated. So many South African chefs struggle to serve plates that are simultaneously classy and modern and yet still portray a terroir specific identity but Leon Nel gets it right. He serves food that is rooted in the environment in which the restaurant is situated without ever feeling folksy or contrived. There is a thoughtful use of local ingredients, flavours and recipes.
